A note from Jack
To the officers and members of the Space Coast
Jazz Society:
To say that Sunday, July 15,2007, was a special day for me would be somewhat of
an understatement. Actually it was one of the great and happiest days of my
life!
I became an English jazz fan in 1940. The desire to be an American came a little
later. Citizenship was obtained in 1954 and marriage to a wonderful New York
girl in 1956.
Although many years were spent in the communications/electronics field (with RCA
at Cape Canaveral), jazz always played a major part in my life. Other than the
music itself, it was always the people of jazz, who provided me with a lot of
friendship and very pleasant relationships.
Your decision to produce this 40th anniversary party as a tribute was really
appreciated. I am aware of all the work involved in such an endeavor. Your
support, attendance and obvious enjoyment was a delight for us to see. Thank
you, thank you, thank you.
With love from
Jack and Lorraine Simpson
